In imagining what it would look like to have one of my favorite artists exhibited at my local museum, this ad campaign was born. Studying elements of Janiva’s painting helped guide me in capturing essences of her work—without exactly using her work. Simplified cartoon eyes along with other disfigured body parts as a reoccurring symbol in her pieces are not only strong images, they also allowed room to explore visual cohesion.
